Itinerary:

Are you ready to go white water rafting on the Ocoee and enjoy a relaxing weekend at Eagle Ranch?

Join us for our 5th Annual weekend adventure at Eagle Ranch, located in the beautiful mountains of Copperhill, Tennessee.  The good folks at Eagle Ranch will be our hosts as well as serving as our outfitter for our white water rafting adventure on Saturday.

The fun begins as soon as you arrive on Friday (anytime after 1pm), so be looking forward to sharing your evening with good company and good food while relaxing around Eagle Ranch.  We'll have use of the pavilion, a large outdoor fire circle,  and the surrounding areas.  We want everyone to feel welcome, so brief introductions will happen campfire style on Friday night.  Just say a little something about yourself, that's it.

Tradition has it that we take a night hike up to Ice Mountain, which is approx. 2 miles roundtrip and located on the property. It's optional, but always a popular activity. Don't forget those headlamps! There's some good star gazing up there as well if the night is clear.

On Saturday, we’ll of course begin with a hearty breakfast and then directly after we'll meet back at the Pavilion at 9:30 am for a short safety talk before we are shuttled off to “ride the rapids” and " SURF " the Ocoee River. The Ocoee is world-famous and it offers continuous Class III-IV action. Woohoo! Once we arrive back at Eagle Ranch, lunch will be ready and you’ll have some down time to take in some " TURF ". Lots of things to do: hiking trails, volleyball, horse shoes, and road/mountain biking trails in the immediate area. Bring your own bikes though if you want to ride. Other suggestions would be to bring frisbee, a football, cards, etc. Just remember Eagle Ranch has a total of 120 acres to be explored.

Sunday, we'll have a nice breakfast before packing up and heading back to the real world.

So, both Friday and Saturday nights we’ll have use of a large outdoor fire circle to relax and enjoy. We will also have use of the Pavilion area and this is where we will prepare all of our meals and eat together as a group . Your meals will include: Friday dinner; Saturday breakfast, lunch and dinner and Sunday breakfast.

Please note: You will have a choice of either staying in the bunk houses or pitching a tent.

  • The bunk houses and bath house with hot showers are located approximately 300 feet from the tent camping and fire circle area.
  • The tent camping area is very spacious and open. Basically, it's a great big field with plenty of room to spread out.

  •

Here's the Forum topic I started for folks arriving early on Friday and want to network with others.  Please register for a new account if you have not been on the forums in the past.  They are not linked to our site, so you will need to register for an account. It's free and simple. :)

Carpool Cost: Approximate vehicle expense for this event is $66.60 (calculated at total miles (180) * $0.370, effective Friday, September 10, 2010). This is based on the current gas, maintenance, and other costs of $0.370 per mile as stated by the IRS & Cars.com. This should be divided by the total number of people in the vehicle (incl driver).
For example: With 4 people in the vehicle, the expense per person on this trip would be $16.65 Alternately your carpool driver may choose to split the maintenance cost plus the actual gas cost among all in the vehicle. Your carpool driver will confirm exactly how much money they require to cover costs. Please split the actual cost among all people in the vehicle.
