Itinerary:

Let's take a walk through downtown Atlanta and enjoy all it has to offer.

We will meet at the 14th Street gate in Piedmont Park at 8:50am and start hiking at 9:00am. This gate can be found at the intersection of Piedmont Road and 14th Street. Please give yourself plenty of time to get here, especially if you are not familiar with the neighborhood.

There is plenty of paid parking near the meeting point. I like to park on the side streets starting along 15th street behind Colony Square and stretching over to the Atlanta Botanical Gardens. There is some free weekend parking that may be available. PLEASE give yourself plenty of time and pay careful attention to the parking signs. Also, give yourself ample time to travel by foot from your parking spot to the meeting point. If you take MARTA to the park, the closest station is Arts Center.

We will do a little loop around Piedmont Park and move onto the Beltline at 10th and Monroe -  http://beltline.org/trails/eastside-trail/. We will walk the Eastside Trail until Irwin Street, where we can stop at the Krog Stree Market to grab coffee/snacks. After our stop, we will double back along the Eastside Trail. On the way back, we will stop and explore the Ponce City Market for about 15-20 minutes. We will continue hiking and reenter Piedmont Park on the 10th Street side, then walk back to the 14th Street gate.

The total distance will be around 7 miles.
