Itinerary:

Join me for a fun hike at Leita Thompson Memorial Park. We will do 2 loops around the park for a total of 5-6 miles at a moderate pace enjoying all the scenery. Leita Thompson Memorial Park is a roller coaster dirt trail. It will give you a good workout while enjoying your hike through the woods.

We will meet at the overflow parking lot (see directions below) at 9:50 am for check-in, use of porta-potty facility, & introductions. Out of respect for the majority of people who arrive on time, we will leave PROMPTLY at 10:00 am.

If you can't come to the Sunday 12/10 AOC Christmas Social & would like to donate a toy for Toys for Tots, you can bring it to the hike & I will put it in the Toys for Tots box at the social. It is always a good feeling to help children!!

Leita Thompson bought the land in 1946 and made it her home until her 1978 death. During her lifetime, Thompson was an early female banking executive who helped other working women with retirement assistance, disability, housing and social and professional recognition. Upon her death, she donated her property to the foundation she created to carry out her work, the Leitalift Foundation. The Leitalift Foundation Inc. has donated more than 100 acres of prime, mostly undeveloped property to the city of Roswell Recreation and Parks Department. The land will remain undeveloped for the near future.
