Itinerary:

Join me on a Kennesaw Mountain 6 mile hike starting from the Burnt Hickory side.  We will park at the Burnt Hickory Road / Pigeon Hill parking lot. We will meet near the metal water fountain and cross the road to start hiking up Pigeon Hill, climbing about 600' to the top of Little Kennesaw Mountain. We will continue on a steady pace down 150' to the gap between the Big and Little Kennesaw and up another 350' to the top of Big Kennesaw, at 1808'. The first 3 miles ends 800' below at the Visitors Center.  

You/We can take a quick break at the Visitors Center to regroup if you want, before heading back up Big K. We will retrace our steps from whence we came and return to the parking lot.

We do not have to stay together for the hike If you have been here before and want to move at a faster pace. Due to darkness and the parks closing time, we will keep moving on this hike and will not be taking time to sightsee.

We will meet at the Burnt Hickory Road / Pigeon Hill parking lot near the kiosk and water fountain at the exit side of the lot. Please arrive a few minutes early to allow us to depart at 5:00pm.  Note there are no bathrooms at this parking lot, but there are bathrooms at the visitors center so plan accordingly.  Parking is free at Kennesaw Mountain NP.

Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park - Burnt Hickory/ Pigeon Hill Parking Lot

1520 Burnt Hickory Road, Marietta, GA 30064

From I-75 North

Take either the North or South Marietta loop off I-75 North and make your way towards Marietta.  When you arrive at Whitlock Avenue (GA 120) head west approximately 1.5 miles.  Turn right onto Burnt Hickory Road and travel 1.3 miles.  The Burnt Hickory/ Pigeon Hill Parking lot is located on the left at the intersection of Burnt Hickory and Old Mountain Road.
