Itinerary:

Please join me for an early morning hike at Sope Creek (Paper Mill parking).  We will start our hike promptly at 8:00 a.m. and hike for about 2 hours and about 5 miles.   Hike will be at a moderate pace.  There are a few rolling hills, nothing super strenous.

Meet at the entrance on Paper Mill Road

My understanding is that CRNRA has waived the $5 parking fee - not sure when they will reinstate the parking fee - bring $5 or your annual pass just in case.

There is a $5 cash fee for a daily parking pass or if you have a CRNRA annual pass even better.  

There are no restrooms at this location

Trip leader requests that all participants follow recommendations for social distancing.  Masks not required, your call, I tried while hiking and can't breath and my glasses fog up so I won't be wearing one.

 

There have been cases of vandalsm to vehicles so leave all valuables at home.

Address 3760 Paper Mill Road, Marietta, GA 30067 (this address is approximate) 

From eastbound Interstate 285

  • Take exit 24, Riverside Drive.
  • Left For 2.3 miles to Johnson Ferry Road.
  • Left for 2.7 miles to the junction of Johnson Ferry Road and Paper Mill Road.
  • Left onto Paper Mill Road for 2.2 miles, entrance will be on the left.

From westbound Interstate 285

  • Take exit 24, Riverside Drive.
  • North For 2.3 miles to Johnson Ferry Road.
  • Left for 2.7 miles to the junction of Johnson Ferry Road and Paper Mill Road.
  • Left onto Paper Mill Road for 2.2 miles, entrance will be on the left.
