Itinerary:

Please join me and David V for my 2nd co-lead at Island Ford Park. Yes, they actually let me do another one. Go figure. We will meet in the Island Ferry Lot (first lot on the left, very near the entrance) and hike the Lollipop Trail first.  We will then head on down to the visitor center for a bathroom break and then head back up to the Island Ferry Lot.  I plan for us to average about 2.75 mph, faster by the river, slower in the hills.  I have allowed for 2 1/2 hours to allow a bathroom break. There are some great views of the river at this time of year. What makes the views great are tons of leaves on the trail instead of in the trees. The leaves will make the trail slick, rain or shine.  You may want to bring hiking poles for the more technical spots.

It will probably be cold(ish) when we start, but we will warm up pretty quickly.  Wear suitable clothes for cold weather, but dress in layers to allow you to remove some when you get hot.

Please arrive 10 minutes early for a hike description and introductions. Arrive earlier if you need to buy a park pass. Passes are available at the visitor center which is located at the end of the entrance road. Daily passes are $5. We will start promptly at 10.

DO NOT LEAVE ANY VALUABLES IN YOUR CAR.  THERE HAVE  BEEN BREAKINS. LEAVE THEM AT HOME OR PUT THEM IN YOUR TRUNK.
