This note is here so that you can make an informed decision. When a Trip Leader isn't personally familiar with a trip, there is an increased chance of things not going as planned and you need to be prepared. The Trip Leader may have additional details in the itinerary.

Itinerary:

This is an exploratory hike - I have done this hike before, but it has been a long time.

The pace will be moderate, targeting a overall speed around 2.0 mph.

We'll park in the first parking lot when we reach Warwoman Dell Recreation Area.  Parking is free.  There is no restroom at the trailhead.  This is an out and back hike from Warwoman Dell to Pinnacle Knob, following the Green and Yellow blazes to Pinnacle Knob!

Most of the hike will be on the yellow blazed Bartram Trail going northwest from the parking area.  Along the way, we will have a view of several waterfalls and hike along the beautiful Martin Creek. Expect a couple of water crossings.  Should be able to rock hop. 

At about 3.2 miles we'll turn left to follow the green blazed Pinnalce Knob trail and make our way up to the summit.  This is a stiff climb, but we will be rewarded with a panoramic view of the Georgia mountains.  We'll take a break at the summit to enjoy lunch and then make our way back down.    

Plan to meet at the Warwoman parking lot by 9:45 am so that we can start promptly at 10 am.  

You may want to stop at the Ingles in Clayton for a restroom break and maybe a snack before meeting at the trailhead.

How to Get There:
Event Directions:
From Roswell/Marietta area take GA 400 North. Turn right onto GA 369 East towards Gainesville. In 20 miles turn left onto I-985 North. I-985 turns into GA 365/US 23/US 441. Continue to the Ingles Grocery Store in Clayton, GA, for a pit stop. 
 
From Lawrenceville area take I-985 North. I- 985 turns into GA 365/US 23/US 441. Continue to the Ingles Grocery Store in Clayton, GA, for a pit stop. 
 
Once back in the cars, continue east onto Warwoman Road and proceed approximately 2.3 miles to the Warwoman Dell Recreation Area. (Be careful - - it's easy to miss the gravel road on your right to the parking lot. Park in the FIRST parking lot! The trailhead begins at the far end of the parking lot.

No bathroom facilities at the trailhead.
