Itinerary:

Let's go explore West Palisades. This is listed as exploratory because I don’t know the exact distance or end time for this hike.

The terrain at West Palisades is rooty and rocky and rugged, with some decent elevation changes, so be prepared for that. Our pace will be slightly faster than moderate, and we will probably hike a little over 4.5 miles.

We will meet at the trailhead at the edge of the gravel parking lot. Drive all the way to the end to find that lot.

There are no bathrooms at this location, so plan accordingly. Please arrive about 10 minutes early for socializing and introductions.

This area, like all CRNRA units, requires a $5 daily parking fee unless you have an annual pass.

3700 Akers Mill Rd SE, Atlanta 30339 is close, but not the actual address

Turn in on Akers Dr off of Akers Mill near that address, then drive up the hill on Akers Dr passing apartment homes untill you see the brown CRNRA sign on the left at the drive to the parking lot. Turn left at the sign and drive through to the parking lot. If you reach an apartment complex at the end of Akers Dr, you have gone too far. Backtrack to the CRNRA driveway. 

Once on the CRNRA driveway, go all the way to the gravel parking lot at the end.

If you haven't been here before, allow extra time to find it because it can be confusing at first.
