Itinerary:

Explore both sides of Sawnee Mountain Preserve with this D4 hike with 9.8 miles and 1600 ft of elevation gain. Join me for a figure eight loop through Sawnee Mountain Preserve. We will start this hike from the Visitor's Center. From there we'll hike to Bettis-Tribble, hike the Ridgeline, including the Church trail, Mountainside, and Hilltop Trails and then proceed back to the visitor center just missing the Indian seat's lookout.

Please note that this hike starts from the parking lot at the Visitors Center. (Not the 2505 Bettis-Tribble Gap Road parking)

Plan to bring plenty of fluids and a snack or sandwich for a short break.

There are restrooms at the Visitor's center and we'll pass other facilities twice more along the trail.

Note: If you have not hiked recent D3 and D4 hikes with the AOC, this is NOT a good hike to start with. This route doesn't allow for someone to take a shortcut back to the start if you don't already know the trails. If you signup, please commit to staying with the group for the entire hike.

Parking is free, there's no pass required and dogs are NOT permitted at this park.
