Itinerary:

(Truncated the original hike due to the hot forecast...disregard the event promo photo)

Join me for this training hike and work your climbing legs. We'll start at Tesnatee Gap and hike south on the AT to Neels Gap. After lunch at Neels Gap we'll turn around and head back to the cars following the same route.  Total mileage will be about 12 miles with 3000 feet of climbing.

The entire hike follows the white blazes of the Appalachian Trial.  It includes tough climbs up Cowrock, Levelland, and Wolf Laurel mountains. We'll lunch at Mountain Crossings shop where we can top off on water.

Due to the difficulty of the hike you need prior D5 experience or the equivalent.  Average pace should be around 2.7 mph.  Please be sure your comfortable on hikes lasting 6+ hours with some stretches at 3.0+ mph pace . If there are no previous D5 hikes in your profile expect an email to assess your compatibility for the hike.
