Itinerary:

Who can resist the pull of the AT with the addition of two waterfalls? Not me!

Join me on a summertime adventure to swim in a waterfall and climb a favorite mountain. We will start at the Andrews Cove Campground for some creek side hiking, uphill to Indian Grave Gap. At the gap we will take a left turn on the AT and climb everyones favorite mountain, Rocky Mountain. Up and over Rocky we go until we hit the intersection with the Rocky Mountain trail for some downhill hiking to a Forest service road. A little road walk takes us to the trailhead for High Shoal Falls. Another mile downhill takes us to High Shoals Falls followed quickly by Blue Hole Falls. We will stop at one of these falls for a lunch and swim before retracing our steps back to our cars. If we are running short of time or energy we will cut 2 miles/800 feet of gain out of our hike by taking the shortcut home.

This difficult D6 hike requires recent D6 hiking experience. Under experienced hikers will be move to the waitlist.
