Note: This is an "EXPLORATORY" trip. This means that there are parts of this trip, or perhaps the whole trip, that is new to your Trip Leader(s). However, they are confident that this will not be an issue.
This note is here so that you can make an informed decision. When a Trip Leader isn't personally familiar with a trip, there is an increased chance of things not going as planned and you need to be prepared. The Trip Leader may have additional details in the itinerary.

Itinerary:

Join me in exploring a new section of the Chattahoochee River. Part of the Middle Chattachoochee water trail we will be putting in at McIntosh Reserve and paddling approximately 5 miles to the Chattohoochee Bend State Park.

We will take our time and enjoy the fall day. Anyone interested can do some hiking on their own at Chattahoochee Bend after we finish paddling.

Please arrive at 8 am at McIntosh Reserve to make introductions and unload the boats. Then we will do a fairly long shuttle (1 hour round trip) to leave the cars at Chattahoochee Bend State Park. We will pile into 1-2 cars and make the trip back to McIntosh reserve and hopefully be in the water by 9:30 am. The first .4 miles of this section of river does have shoals (shoals are shallow areas with rocks) but it is rated an easy class 1. After that it will be smooth sailing to our take out at Chattahoochee Bend State Park.

We will need 1-2 volunteers to take the shuttle drivers back to their cars.
