Itinerary:

Please join us for a hike at Kennesaw Mountain.  Let's burn off Thanksgiving dinner and avoid some of the craziness of Black Friday.  This scenic hike includes Civil War historic sites, cannons, and views of downtown Atlanta & Stone Mt.

We'll start and end at Overflow Parking Lot near the Visitor Center.  From the parking lot, we'll hike past the Visitor Center then up & down Big Kennesaw.  The hike will continue up and down Little Kennesaw and then around the base of the mountain on Camp Brumby Trail.  We'll pass by the Visitor Center again and then back to the Overflow Lot.

The hike will be at a moderate pace. The terrain can be challenging due to ~1000 ft. elevation gain and many rocky areas - so hiking poles may be useful. Because of the challenging terrain this hike is not for beginners. We'll stop a couple times for water breaks, to regroup, and perhaps to look at something interesting.

Bring something to drink and tales from Thanksgiving Day.  We'll start on time so plan to arrive 10 minutes early for greetings. There are no restrooms at the overflow lot but we'll swing by the Visitor Center for a quick restroom break before we start up the mountain.

Note: Kennesaw Mt. requires a $5 Daily Pass or a $40 Annual Pass, which can be purchased in the Visitor's Center, at an automated machine in the parking lot, or online. America the Beautiful National Parks Passes also can be used at Kennesaw.
