Join Us for a Scenic Morning Hike and/or at Cochran Shoals!

Looking to add some miles to your week or simply enjoy a peaceful stroll by the water? Come spend Friday morning with us at Cochran Shoals, a favorite spot along the Chattahoochee River for hiking, running, biking, and dog walking.

We’ll follow the trail north along the river, completing two loops of the Cochran Shoals Fitness Trail (each about 3 miles, with the Columns Drive parking area at the midpoint). Altogether, our trek will cover approximately 6.4 miles at a moderate pace.

Dogs are welcome (on leash), and the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly.

Afterward (Optional), you’re invited to join us for a casual breakfast at Waffle House. Meals are self-pay, but the company is free!

Notes:

  • All natural and cultural features are FEDERALLY protected.
  • Stay on the designated trails.
  • Pets must be on a leash at all times.
  • Be aware of rapid rising water levels.
  • No glass containers on the river.
  • Park Unit is closed to public use at dark.

    Please remember a $5.00 daily Pass is required on parked vehicles in the National Park.

From I-285 W, take exit 22 for New Northside Dr toward Northside Dr/Powers Ferry Rd. Turn right onto New Northside Dr. Continue onto Interstate N Pkwy for about 0.8 mile and the parking entry is on the right.

From I-285 E, take exit 22 for New Northside Dr toward Northside Dr/Powers Ferry Rd. Turn left onto New Northside Dr. Continue onto Interstate N Pkwy for about 0.8 mile and the parking entry is on the right.
