Itinerary:

This park is maintained by the Cherokee County Saddle Club, and may be used by both horse riders and hikers, BUT PEDESTRIANS MUST YIELD TO RIDERS. Most trails are named after horse coat colors.

We will walk a loop consisting of part or all the trails in the park, except for Dun, Pinto and Buckskin (see link below for trail map). The itinerary is the following: Sorrel, Ellen's Way, Dapple, Bay alternating with Greenway West, Roan, Chestnut, Greenway West, Dun  and Palomino. If we want to walk an additional 3 miles, instead of returning through Dun we could walk along Greenway East to Pinto and up to Palomino. Since Bay and Chestnut have many loops, it is also easy to make the hike shorter if needed. The trails meander up and down quite a bit, so there is significant elevation change.

We will stop for lunch at the picnic tables on the Northwest corner of the park, on Chestnut.
