Itinerary:

This is the time of year when the baby fawns are born.  Early morning is a great time to see the does foraging in the woods with their new babies.

We will hike the West Kolb Farm Trail to Powder Spring Road, cross the road and continue on the East Kolb Farm Trail.  Then we will walk the creek trail and loop around on the Old John Ward Road and pass by the Illinois Monument.  We will make brief stops at the Grave of the Unknown Soldier and then complete our loop back to the parking lot   If you are a deer lover, as I am, you might enjoy this hike

The average pace of this hike will be about 2.8 mph.  This pace should not be too challenging as there is very little elevation on these trails.

Required Items to Bring:

Hiking shoes or boots

Water or energy drinks

America the Beautiful pass or KMNBP pass  (If you don't have a park pass, there is a kiosk at the parking lot for purchase of a day pass.)

Head lamp or flashlight
