Itinerary:

Hey everyone! I’m planning a fitness hike, and I’ll be “suffering through” it all, to get back in shape to enjoy all the fun trips this year!

READ BEFORE YOU SIGN UP:

1. This hike might not fully capture how much fun it is to hike with AOC, as we’ll likely spread out to push our fitness limits.

2. If you haven’t hiked a D5 with AOC before but know your way from the visitor center to the mile marker in the photo, you’re welcome to join.

3. I won’t wait for you or try to catch up; you’re free to complete this hike at your own pace, as long as you finish on time.

4. If you’re faster than me, please text me to let me know you’re done and leaving, so I don’t have to wonder what happened to you.

5. If I’m ahead of you, I’ll be at the bench near the visitor center. Just swing by when you’re done.

We’ll meet at the visitor center and start heading up on Big K, then we have a downhill (not as long as the uphill).

After that, we go uphill again on Little Kennesaw, followed by the last part, a 0.3 miles downhill Little K, you won’t find the 2-mile marker (in the picture) unless you are looking for it.

So, keep an eye out for a fence on your right-hand side; the mile marker is mounted on the fence. Turn around at this point.

And get this: We’ll do it all over again!

This tactic will give us a total of 8 miles, with a “massive” 2575 ft elevation gain.

Please don’t sign up if you haven’t been on this trail.

If I don’t see a hike in your AOC history that covers this part of the trail, I’ll move you on the waitlist.

However, if you send me an email explaining how familiar you are with this trail, I’d be happy to reconsider.
