Itinerary:

MONDAY NIGHT RIDE [MNR]

Join me for this AOC Monday Night Bike Ride on the Big Creek Greenway. We'll be hitting the route at 6 p.m. from the NORTH POINT PKWY G'way Trailhead from there we'll run back over to the Roswell end and loop back - then head out to the "Sector 11" just beyond the Union Hill PopUp Skate Park. We'll turn around there and maybe do a pit stop at the sk8 park...then it's back to Marconi to do a couple Marconi climbs (see Additional notes below). We will be doing this as a non-stop effort, and quicker pace, we'll have a rolling re-group at Marconi, then head back to the trailhead.

Arrive about 10-15 minutes early for prep, warm-up, intros and such.

Also, if you're not familiar with the route, please visit these updated web sites; as we may or may not be grouped together due to varying fitness levels, my avg pace will be more aggressive than usual to get a steady workout - but I'll be looping back to sweep and check on things as we go along (no drop). Bring lights nonetheless.

Avg speeds need to be in the neighborhood of 15+ mph.

My RWGPS map - with gravel add-on (feel free to skip that if on road bike) :: https://ridewithgps.com/trips/371527638

For those of you that may not know the route, this map and GPS link should help. Map: we start at #4 and travel north to #11 (and beyond to Union Hill (Sector 11 on STRAVA). OAB.

This ride is best on a road bike, but can be completed on any mechanically sound bike of your choice...I'll be on my gravel bike, so choose your weapon carefully! No e-bikes permitted on AOC rides.

How to Get There:
Event Directions:

6698 North Point Parkway, Alphaghetto, GA 30022

GPS link above has location pinned

Go to the lower lot behind the old Ethan Allen store - shaded, free parking is available. There is filtered water, restrooms and a community repair stand with a pump at your disposal.

Notes:

Keep the rubber side down!

Super Marconi's are on tap: Start Marconi climb from Windward, turning right UP the road to Varint Healthcare offices - crest the top and weave around to the left near the roundabout islands, head back down the same road. At Marconi turn left heading back to the bottom of Marconi. Turn around at the bottom, head up just past the old Jekyl Brewery - go UP that roadway to the turnaround island at the top....then head back down, turning right back over to do the Honda Loop....voila- you just completed one SUPER MARCONI (1.77 miles).

SUPER MARCONI +
Same as above, but add in the secret ingredient....it's about 2.2 mile add-on that includes the 18% grade - short, but steep effort just to add to the workout element...just be careful around the curb!!!
