Itinerary:

Come on and join for an easy paddling trip at Stone Mountain Park.

We will meet at the only boat ramp in Stn Mtn park (see GPS coordinates). When you get there, go ahead and unload the boat and then we can introduce ourselves before launching into the lake.

It will be a nice leisurely paddle across Stn Mtn lake. Nothing aggressive. You can always paddle ahead and come back to the group to test your arm strength if you want. Kind of hard to get lost here anyway. We will wander around a bit, going around islands, under covered bridges, beside some shoals and circle back. I don't usually go more than around 6-7 miles. Since there will be no current, you will need to paddle the whole time, therefore you will need moderate upper body strength to complete. Your boat should have a keel or skeg to track across the lake. Some boats are just not suitable for tracking for miles across lakes.

There's some nice views for a local lake, and relatively quiet, with some typical wildlife here and there. I like the way the air feels as it skims over the water.

The photo below is the boat I will bring, so you can recognize me by that if there's other groups there. Also, that's Stn Mtn in the background in case you're not familiar with the area.
