HEADS-UP: AllTrails map is now updated with the new trail. Elevation gain listed as 3215 ft but I would expect it to end up around 3350 ft.

Let's meet at BHR trailhead parking lot for a lollipop hike! We’ll head up to Blood Mountain and take Slaughter Creek down to Lake Winfield Scott.

Fun fact: Blood Mountain is the tallest peak on the Georgia part of the Appalachian Trail, standing at 4,458 feet.

After lunch by the lake, we’ll make our way back up Blood Mountain via Jarrard Gap and then head down the BHR Trail back to our cars.

We will stop a few minutes to take in the views on top of the mountain.
