Itinerary:

Cloudland Canyon State Park is one of my favorite places in Georgia.  Join me as I put my own twist on an AOC favorite.

We will start our adventure at the Cloudland Canyon Interpretive Center Parking area. From there we will head down to the falls... down the steps and down more steps. After enjoying the falls we head to the Sittons Gulch Trail for some elevation and nice creek side hiking. Once we reach the end-of-trail, we turn around, retrace our steps and head to the Overlook trail. I don't usually do this trail, but it is nice, has some good views and will provide a great lunch location. After lunch we will head in the direction of the Backcountry Trail. We will go down, down, down to the beautiful water crossing. We won't be crossing here (unless we need to cool off). Turn around we must, head back to the cars we will and finish our journey.

This is a strenuous hike with over 3000 ft of gain and requires recent D5 experience. If you don't have recent experience, you will be moved to the waiting list. Please email the trip leader if you have recent experience outside of the AOC.

The total amount should be divided by the number of people in the vehicle, including the driver. This is a guideline, not a rule, for drivers but the cost should not be higher unless there are extenuating circumstances.

Notes:

There is a $10 parking fee at the park.
