This note is here so that you can make an informed decision. When a Trip Leader isn't personally familiar with a trip, there is an increased chance of things not going as planned and you need to be prepared. The Trip Leader may have additional details in the itinerary.

Itinerary:

Join me as I enjoy the new Byron Reece Trail! The reroute opened on June 6th and is ready to be used.

We will be taking the Byron Reece to where it meets the AT, head up and over Blood Mountain and make our way to the Slaughter Creek Trail. We take the Slaughter Creek trail to the lake where a picnic pavillion and bathrooms await our sweaty bodies. We may even opt for a quick dip in the lake... who knows? After lunch we will take the Jarrard Gap Trail to the AT and go up and over Blood and return to the Byron Reece and ultimately our cars.

You must have recent D5 experience to join the fun. If you are new to the club, shoot me an email to tell me about your hiking experience.
