Itinerary:

Gahuti Trail hikes Fort Mountain’s beautiful backcountry. We will be adding the hike up to the Fire Tower and the West Overlook. This a beautiful trail to enjoy the fall colors.

The start for this hike is at the parking lot near the lake. This is because I will be posting a paddle on the lake for after the hike. There is a restroom at the lake. From the lake trail we will connect to the Gahuti trail and will go in a counterclock wise direction enjoying several overlooks. We will take another trail to go to the firetown and then stop at the West Overlook for lunch. After lunch we will join back on to the Gahuti trail and return back to the lake.

This trail is technical with lots of ups and downs. The elevation gain in total is around 2000 ft. We will go at a moderate 2.2 - 2.5 mph pace depending on the speed of the group. You should be able to maintain a 2.2 mile pace if you plan to join the fun!
