Ready to trade your desk for a trail? 😊

Join me for an after-work escape to the top of Big Kennesaw Mountain! Instead of heading straight home after work, let's lace up our hiking shoes, get some fresh air, and enjoy a beautiful evening on the trail.

We'll meet at 5:50 PM next to the visitor center and start our climb toward the 1,808-foot summit of Big Kennesaw. This is a relatively short hike, but the trail packs a good workout into those 2+ miles. Most of the 662 ft elevation gain is in 1.1 miles, with a steady uphill climb and some rocky sections.

We'll keep a comfortable, steady pace, taking our time on the steeper portions as needed. We might be averaging 2.5mph for the entire hike.

Once we reach the top, we'll regroup, take some time to catch our breath, enjoy the views, and hopefully catch some beautiful evening light before making our way back down.

Think of it as a little midweek reset: leave work behind, move your body, breathe some fresh air, enjoy good company, and finish the day on a high note. 🌄

From I-75 North:

  • Take Exit 267B onto SR-5 Spur South toward US-41/Marietta.
  • Turn right onto Church Street Extension NE.
  • Turn left onto Old US-41 Hwy NW.
  • Turn left onto Stilesboro Rd NW.
  • Turn left into the Visitor Center parking lot.

Parking:

If the Visitor Center parking lot is full, don't worry! 😊 An overflow parking lot is available approximately ¼ mile farther north on Old US-41, just west of Stilesboro Road.

Meeting Point:

We'll meet by the cannon in front of the Visitor Center. 🥾


Notes:

Please allow about 10 minutes for parking, especially if you need to use the overflow lot and walk back to the Visitor Center. See the Directions section for details about the overflow parking location.
