Itinerary:

 

We will start at the parking lot above the waterfall, take the Approach Trail to Frosty Mountain, continue to Nimblewill Gap, AKA the service road, AKA the plane crash site. We will turn around and retrace our steps only for 0.6 miles to get on the connecting trail to Len Foote Hike Inn for lunch break.

Our break comes after we complete 6.5 miles/almost 1900ft elevation gain.

On the way back after lunch, we will take the Hike Inn Trail, which is well-maintained and meanders through bridges and passes. There will be several scenic overlooks along the hike, so we can stop and enjoy the surroundings.

Len Foote Inn is a unique backcountry eco-lodge, take a few minutes to look into the concept on their website https://hike-inn.com/education.

It MIGHT be possible for us to buy their famous dessert, but don't hold it against me if there wasn't any.

The hike total elevation gain is almost 2600 feet, we will maintain a moderate average pace of 2.7mph, a tad slower on the uphill and faster going down.
