Itinerary:

Greetings Atlanta Outdoor Club hikers!

We are going to hike around historic Hyde Farm, Mulberry Creek and along the Chattahoochee River. The fall foliage should be at its peak!

This hike has a nice mix of landscapes including a river, creeks, historic farm, donkeys, an abandoned car in the middle of a trail, and some stone stepping creek crossings that may get your toes wet if the water is high. (I doubt it will be high this time of year, but pack an extra pair of shoes to wear home just in case! You may also want hiking poles to navigate the streams.) There are a couple of technical aspects to this hike, as well, as we cross the stream.

Due to the technical aspects of this hike, you must be a strong hiker with a lot of D2 experience or higher.  Members with little to no experience will be moved to the wait list for further consideration.

The hike has some elevation and most of the hike will be on dirt. We will hike at a moderate pace.

There are bathrooms near the parking area. (Parking is free!)

After the hike, there is an option to eat breakfast/grab coffee together at a nearby restaurant if the group is open to it.   

**Your trip leader will also be shooting some video for an upcoming documentary, so hikers must be willing to participate. If this is not for you -- then please sit this hike out!**

How to Get There:

From Johnson Ferry Rd

Turn onto Lower Roswell Rd heading towards Roswell.  Turn right onto Hyde Rd.

From Willeo Rd

Go around the traffic circle at the end of Willeo and take the second exit onto Lower Roswell Rd. Turn left onto Hyde Rd.

Stay on Hyde Road and take it all the way to a dead end. One of the first landmarks you'll notice near the park is a pond, which you'll see on the right side of the road. Keep driving up the hill past the pond. Parking is near the top of the hill on the lefthand side. We will meet near the parking area in front of a modern looking barn.

Parking is free.
