Itinerary:
8.5 to 10 total miles, with roughly 1200' steady ascent and 1500' steady descent. This is a point to point hike. We'll drop off half of our vehicles close to the end of our hike near US76 and at its intersection with Gilmer County Road #158 and shuttle back to the start of our hike.

We'll hike 6 miles of BMT - Section 6 starting at Fall Branch Falls. We'll go up over Rocky Mountain and then down over Scroggin Knob down to Weaver Creek Road and then start the beginning of Section 7 and continue on 2.5 miles over flat winding road and finish at the Appalachian Highway (U.S. 76, GA 2, 5, and 515).

How to Get There:
Event Directions:I-75 North to 575 to Appalachian Highway (U.S. 76, GA 2, 5, and 515): The BMT crosses this four-lane divided highway at its intersection with Gilmer County Road #158.

We'll shuttle back near Toccoa Riverside Restaurant (8055 Aska Road Blue Ridge, GA 30513) to Fall Branch Falls.

Carpool Cost: Estimated cost per vehicle for this event is $52.00 using a reimbursement rate guideline of $0.400 per mile. The total amount should be divided by the number of people in the vehicle, including the driver. This is a guideline, not a rule, for drivers but the cost should not be higher unless there are extenuating circumstances.

Notes:
We generally hike 2 to 2.5 mph.
This is a moderate hike and we'll stop on top of the mountain for a lunch/snack break.
This hike will occur rain, snow, or shine and will only be cancelled for EXTREME cold or harsh weather conditions.
