Itinerary:
Let's go for an early morning bike ride on the Big Creek Greenway.

We'll meet at the the southern trailhead off of McFarland Road. The one-way distance is 6.8 miles, so out and back is 13.6 miles. Everyone can go at their own pace, but it shouldn't take us more than 2 1/2 hours total. It's mostly flat with only about 100 feet of total elevation change one way.

Speed limit on the Big Creek Greenway is 10 MPH.

We normally ride around 10-12 MPH depending on the group and traffic on the Greenway.

IMPORTANT NOTE(s):
  • YOU are responsible for your bike maintenance or repairs on the trail.
  • All levels of riding ability and all types of bikes are welcome.


After the AOC ride has ended, your TL's (Paula and Dusty) are going for a second trip on the Greenway to really get some mileage in for the day.  If you want to join us, you may, but it will be an unofficial AOC ride and we plan to go a little faster than the AOC trip.  

Required Items to Bring:
  • Bike (All types are welcome)
  • Helmet is REQUIRED!
  • Water
  • Spare tire tube
  • Tool(s) for removing your wheel (for those who do not have quick-release wheels)

How to Get There:
Event Directions:GA 400- North
Take Exit 12 - McFarland Parkway.
Take a right off the exit
Parking is less than a mile on your right

GA 400- South
Take Exit 12 - McFarland Parkway.
Take a left off the exit
Parking is less than a mile on your right


Notes:
You MUST be able to perform your own bike maintenance should you have any mechanical issues.

Perform pre-bike maintenance before you begin the ride to make sure everything is functioning properly. Always a good idea to check tire pressure before each ride
