Itinerary:

Ok I was going to do this at Autrey Mill Nature Preserve but they have an event scheduled that could interfere with our hike so going to do it here instead.  We will have a leisurely walk and stop for photos a good bit.  This is a beautiful park with the river views...and it is mostly in the shade so shouldn't be too hot.  But we'll try to get in about a 3 1/2 to 4 mile hike, although could be a bit less..just depends on what the group is in the mood for.

While this is a "photo hike", you don't need to bring a camera to participate .  But if you do, then we can share some photos and I'll post a group photo album of our shots.  I'll bring my laptop and can copy your pics from your SD card right after the hike, or you can email me a few.

Also we are going to do our little part to help keep the park clean and pick up trash as we find it as we hike.  There is often an absurd amount near the parking area...so I'll bring some garbage bags and we can pick up some and just toss it in the trashcans there.  We won't go looking for it, but if we come across some, will pick it up and clean it up a bit.

There is a $3 parking fee if you don't have an annual pass.  Also note that there are two entrances to the park...one is usually gated but other one farther north off Barnwell is is open and where we are meeting...see more detailed directions below.

How to Get There:
Event Directions:From GA 400, take exit 7a, and head East 4.1 miles through the intersection of Holcomb Bridge and Nesbitt Ferry Road to the junction of Barnwell Road. Turn left on Barnwell Rd, and travel approx 2 miles to the park (big sign) which will be on the right. Turn in and go a little over 1/2 mile to large parking lot at the very end of the road.
