Itinerary:
Spend your morning in the fresh outdoors lending a hand with trail maintenance at the Sope Creek Branch of the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area!

Work along side seasoned park volunteers repairing trails in the park that are in need of repair. Tools and training are provided by park staff and fellow volunteers. We may also remove invasive non-native vegetation (such as privet). 

Required Items to Bring:
  • Wear clothes that you don't mind getting very dirty. Wear old sneakers or boots, but absolutely NO sandals.  Bring work gloves. We encourage you to wear long pants as some of the trash we pick up is broken glass and sharp/jagged materials. Wear weather appropriate clothes!
  • Other items to consider: hat, sunglasses and sunscreen.
  • Bring clean clothes and shoes to change into for your journey home!
  • Drinks. Please bring a reuseable drinking container.  A water cooler will be on site to refill your container.

    From eastbound Interstate 285

    Take exit 24, Riverside Drive.
    Left For 2.3 miles to Johnson Ferry Road.
    Left for 2.7 miles to the junction of Johnson Ferry Road and Paper Mill Road.
    Left onto Paper Mill Road for 2.2 miles, entrance will be on the left.

    From westbound Interstate 285

    Take exit 24, Riverside Drive.
    North For 2.3 miles to Johnson Ferry Road.
    Left for 2.7 miles to the junction of Johnson Ferry Road and Paper Mill Road.
    Left onto Paper Mill Road for 2.2 miles, entrance will be on the left.

    From northbound Interstate 75

    Take exit 260, Windy Hill Road.
    Right to Powers Ferry Road.
    Left for .9 miles to Terrell Mill Road
    Right on Terrell Mill Road for 1.6 miles to ‘right' turning lane for Paper Mill Road.
    Unit will be on right 1.1 miles down the road.

    From southbound Interstate 75

    Take exit 260, Windy Hill Road.
    Left to Powers Ferry Road.

    Right on Terrell Mill Road for 1.6 miles to ‘right' turning lane for Paper Mill Road.
    Unit will be on right 1.1 miles down the road.
