Itinerary:

Fast walking, less talking. We're zipping around Cochran Shoals zoom zoom style. We'll do 6+ miles at a fast pace. Not your mama's hike (meaning not a beginners hike).

I recommend you wear long pants if you are susceptible to poison ivy. It's not too bad but you will encounter some close to the trails.


Allow yourself a few extra minutes to park as sometimes you've got to wait for a spot to open up. This is a busy place.

We're outta here at 6 sharp. If you're late you'll have to catch the group. After all....it's zoom zoom.

 

There's a $3 parking fee at this location.  Be sure to have correct amount in cash to purchase a parking tag.  (Failure to do so is a $75 fine!)


Required Items to Bring:

Enough water or Gatorade
Good hiking shoes - will get muddy if it has recently rained
Snack
Rain gear (just in case)

From eastbound Interstate 285

  • Take exit 22, Northside Drive, New Northside Drive, Powers Ferry Road.
  • Go to second traffic light and go left onto New Northside Drive.
  • Use “through” lane to pick up Interstate North Parkway.
  • Unit will be immediately on the right after crossing the Chattahoochee.

From westbound Interstate  285

  • Take exit 22, Northside Drive, New Northside Drive, Powers Ferry Road.
  • Right on New Northside Drive.
  • Use “through” lane to pick up Interstate North Parkway.
  • Unit will be immediately on the right after crossing the Chattahoochee.

Notes:

There's a bathroom facility at this parking lot.  :-)
Be sure to bring $3 cash for parking if you don't have an annual pass.
