Itinerary:

We should cover about 5.5 miles at a moderate to moderately fast pace.  This is not a beginner hike, but it is not a super strenous D3 either. We will maintain a moderate pace, not slow but not super fast.

I recommend you wear long pants if you are susceptible to poison ivy. It's not too bad but you will encounter some close to the trails.

Allow yourself a few extra minutes to park as sometimes you've got to wait for a spot to open up. This is a busy place. We're outta here on time. Please arrive a few minutes before the hike is scheduled to start to check in.
 

There's a $3 parking fee at this location.  Be sure to have correct amount in cash to purchase a parking tag.  (Failure to do so is a $75 fine!)

There are restrooms at the trailhead.


Required Items to Bring:

Enough water or Gatorade
Good hiking shoes - will get muddy if it has recently rained
Snack
Rain gear (just in case)

No flip flops or shoes without a back please

From eastbound Interstate 285

  • Take exit 22, Northside Drive, New Northside Drive, Powers Ferry Road.
  • Go to second traffic light and go left onto New Northside Drive.
  • Use “through” lane to pick up Interstate North Parkway.
  • Unit will be immediately on the right after crossing the Chattahoochee.

From westbound Interstate  285

  • Take exit 22, Northside Drive, New Northside Drive, Powers Ferry Road.
  • Right on New Northside Drive.
  • Use “through” lane to pick up Interstate North Parkway.
  • Unit will be immediately on the right after crossing the Chattahoochee.

Notes:

There's a bathroom facility at this parking lot.  :-)
Be sure to bring $3 cash for parking if you don't have an annual pass.
