Itinerary:

Our hike will start in the Springer Parking Lot. we will hike to Hawk Mtn Shelter at a moderate pace. We will have lunch at Stover Creek Shelter or Long Creek Falls which we will pass on our way to Hawk Mtn Shelter. When we get to Hawk Mtn Shelter we will set up our tents or maybe there will be room in the shelter


Required Items to Bring:

Tent in case shelter is full, Sleeping bag rated at 20* or better 2 lunches, 1 dinner

How to Get There:
Event Directions:

North on Ga 400 to Auraria Road turn left go about 1 block turn right. Stay on Auraria Road until it deadends into Hwy 9 turn left on Hwy 9. Hwy 9 will deadend into Hwy 52 turn left stay on Hwy 52 for about 8 miles to Nimblewill Church Road. You will pass an old store on your right turn right on Nimblewill Road. Continue on this road until you get to FS 28-1 turn right, if you pass Nimblewill Church you have gone about 1/4 mile too far. Continue on FS 28-1 to FS 77 turn left it is about 2 miles to FS 77 Stay on FS 77 to Winding Stair Gap turn left on FS 42 to Springer Mountain Parking Lot.

 

Should take us about 1 1/2 hours to get to Springer Mtn
