This note is here so that you can make an informed decision. When a Trip Leader isn't personally familiar with a trip, there is an increased chance of things not going as planned and you need to be prepared. The Trip Leader may have additional details in the itinerary.

Itinerary:

 

OK, fellow AOC hikers --- here we go. Let's do some scrambling*) and exploring some lesser walked trails and maybe a few new paths ...

Hiking poles (at least one) are recommended, as well as long pants and long sleeves.

*) easy to moderate scrambling — generally, just off-trail hiking with minimal  exposure (if at all) and perhaps a handhold or two.

Come join me and Lauren (our cliff expert) on the trails at Vickery Creek - Unit of the Chattahoochee NRA.

Note: The extend of our scrambling will depend on the weather and the group, so please sign only up if you don’t mind getting your hands and pants a bit dirty.

From Northbound U.S. 19/Ga. 400
Take exit 6 for Northridge Road
Stay RIGHT onto Northridge Road crossing bridge
Take first RIGHT onto Dunwoody Place, go 1.3 miles
Turn RIGHT at Ga. 9 (Roswell Road), go 0.6 miles
Cross river turn RIGHT onto Riverside Road, go less than 0.1 mile
Turn LEFT at park entrance

From Southbound U.S. 19/Ga. 400
Take exit 7 for Ga. 140 (Holcomb Bridge Road)
Turn RIGHT onto Ga. 140 East (Holcomb Bridge Road), go 0.2 mile
Turn LEFT at Dogwood Road, go 1.0 miles
Continue STRAIGHT on Riverside Road, go 1.0 mile
Turn RIGHT at park entrance

Remember to bring three dollar parking fee, unless you have a Chattahoochee NRA annual parking pass.
