Itinerary:

** UPDATE **  This Event has sold out.  If you are on the Waiting List and you have a ticket, please email me and I will promote you.  I've also changed the meeting time to 3:00 pm instead of 3:15 pm.  It is going to be very crowded and traffic will be congested.

The Atlanta Cycling Festival is proud and excited to partner with Living Walls for the 2014 Living Walls Bicycle Tour!   

Come join us on a fantastic and artistic "Inner City" bicycle tour of many of the 2014 Living Walls murals. You'll get a limited print bicycle spoke card, a unique chance to mingle with the founders and organizers of the Living Walls Conference and be the first to see the completed projects!  Plus you'll be surrounded by hundreds of fellow cyclists and get to see new places in Atlanta!  It will be a fun, hot day of touring and biking.  All bike types are welcome.

Afterwards (optionally) we can meet somewhere for dinner / drinks if schedules permit.  Inman Park and Little Five Points are in the immediate area, we can decide then.
 
NOTE:  This event costs $5 (+$1.12 fee)to register with the Event Organizer.

Event Details:
  • Sunday, Aug 17th
  • Cost: $5 (Proceeds go to making the 2014 Living Walls Conference a reality)
  • 3.30pm: Sign in and register at Atlanta BeltLine Bicycle
  • Each rider gets a Living Walls 5 Year Anniversary spoke card sketched by some of the participating artists!
  • 4pm: Ride to the walls!
  • 6:30pm: End at Noni's Deli for drinks and special art surprise from Living Walls

Given the congestion of this area, we will meet in Inman Park at 182 Hurt St NE, Atlanta, GA 30307.  There is a park with ample parking.  I'd like us all to meet at 3:00 pm, then bike over as a group to Atlanta Beltline Cycling for check-in.


Required Items to Bring:
  • Your own bike, although limited rentals are available at Atlanta Beltline Cycling
  • Bicycle helmet
  • Spare tubes, repair tools for flats
  • PLENTY OF WATER (it will be hot!!)
  • Comfortable cycling clothing
  • Picture ID

Directions to Event

  • From Atlanta I-75/85 Downtown connector, take Freedom Parkway Exit and head East.
  • At the first traffic light, take a RIGHT onto Boulevard.
  • After turning onto Boulevard, at the 2nd traffic light turn LEFT onto Irwin Street NE.
  • In approx 0.3 mile, Sampson Street is on the left. The Atlanta Beltine begins just past Sampson Street and Atlanta Beltine Cycling is tucked in right off of the Beltline.

 ** Note ** This will be very congested with limited parking. It is HIGHLY recommend you meet at alternate meeting location (below) about 1/2 mile away.

Directions to AOC meeting area

Use 182 Hurt St NE, Atlanta, GA 30307 for GPS devices.

  • From Atlanta I-75/85 Downtown connector, take Freedom Parkway Exit and head East.
  • At the first traffic light, take a RIGHT onto Boulevard.
  • After turning onto Boulevard, at the 2nd traffic light turn LEFT onto Irwin Street NE.
  • After 0.5 mile, Irwin St NE becomes Lake Ave NE
  • After 0.2 mile, turn RIGHT onto Elizabeth Street NE.
  • After 0.1 mile, turn LEFT onto Euclid Ave NE.
  • Hurt Street and the park will be the next right.  Park anywhere on the street, there should be plenty of parking here.
