Itinerary:

This event will start with a hike through Laurel Ridge Trail.  We will make our way to the Buford Dam, then back up to the Lower Overlook parking area.  We will then continue back to the Buford Dam Park where we will head to the beach area for some swimming and food.

We will be using one of the picnic areas near the beach where we can prepare dinner.  I only ask that each person bring a side dish of their choosing to share.  I will provide the hotdogs and hamburgers as the main course.

There is a $4 per vehicle parking fee for this park.  While there are other free parking options in the area, the proximity to the beach makes the $4 worth it.  We will meet near the restrooms at the beach area.

Water, hiking boots, swim suit, towel, your favorite side dish

Buford Dam Park, Buford Dam Road, Buford, GA

From the north end of I-285, take GA 400 North to Exit 14 (GA 20 E/Buford Rd) toward Buford (stay right on the ramp).  Turn left at the second light (Sanders Rd).  At the next light, turn right onto Buford Dam Rd.  Follow Buford Dam Rd until you reach Buford Dam Park.  The entrance will be on your left AFTER crossing over the dam.
