Itinerary:

LET IT SNOW, LET IT SNOW, LET IT SNOW!!!! Special HOLIDAY Edition of our Weekly Hike.

STARTING at 6:00pm, we'll go around the mountain along the road approx. 4 miles towards MY 100% GUARANTEE OF SNOW.  We'll take in the Snow Village area and maybe even find some to have a snowball fight (probably not!).  Then we'll meander around the village through the lights and decorations.  The hike will then continue back toward the Confederate Hall Parking Area.

Here's the catch.  Since we're starting and walking around at night, Christmas Lights, blinking (and tacky) shirts and apparel - yes, even red light-up noses or antlers.  EVERYONE should consider adding to the novelty of the evening by adding their own decoration and coloration!

The total distance will be just at 5 miles.   We'll have some that move a little faster and some at a more moderate pace, but we will ALL regroup once we get to the Snow and Village areas.   This is a Festive Hike for the Holidays, so come and join us!!!

There is an $10 parking fee to enter the park; however, free public parking is available in Stone Mountain Village. See directions below.


Required Items to Bring:

• Comfortable shoes with a good grip-the rock can be slippery.
• 1 liter of water, sports drink or beverage of choice.
• Trail snacks.

* A Snickers bar for the leader (preferably frozen or at least refridgerated to ensure it makes it all the way through the hike and can be enjoyed at the top by the leader!)

• Poncho or rain jacket in case of rain/Winter Wear for the cold

Directions: To the main entrance- From I-285 take U.S. Hwy 78 East (Snellville/Athens) exit. Travel about 7 miles and take Exit 8, the Stone Mountain Park Main Entrance. After entering the main entrance, proceed straight ahead. The road will fork at about 1 mile – stay to the right. Continue to follow the road for another mile. Confederate Hall will be on your left. The parking lot will be immediately after. We’ll meet behind Confederate Hall near the walk up trail.
