Itinerary:

This casual two mile hike is a good event for those new to hiking or getting back into hiking. Our pace will not be fast. The terrain is mostly flat, a couple of small hills, with some rocks and roots on the trail. We are going to start at parking area C and hike the blue loop that will lead us to the K-9 training area and activity fields. Next we will hike the red trail to a neat rocky area and return the same trail. This park has several good trails and historical buildings on site. This is a conservation area and is sparsely developled but has a lot to offer in activities.

From Atlanta:

Take I-20 West to Exit 30 (Post Road)

Turn Left on Post Road

Drive 0.9 miles then make a Right on Ephesus Church Road

Drive 1.2 miles and Clinton Nature Preserve at 8720 Ephesus Church Road is on the Right

We will meet in Parking Area C: last parking area on right side of gravel road, directly across from white farm house. Free parking

Notes:

Dogs are allowed on the hike but must remain on a 6 foot leash. It would be great if the dog-owners took care of their dog’s trail “presents” while on the hike, park provides bags just for that occasion. Doggie fountain is available near the parking lot.
