Itinerary:

Join us for a Saturday morning hike at the East Palisades section of Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area.

East Palisades is one of the most beautiful of all the CNRA units. Indian Trail offers several miles of trails that connect to a scenic overlook that offers excellent views of the Devil's Racecourse Shoals. We will hike 5.5 to 6 miles including sections along the river as well as a few steep, rugged areas at a moderate pace.

We'll hike through the bamboo forest, which is always an awesome sight, especially for first timers and explore the cave nearby.

Please remember to bring $3 cash for the National Park Service parking fee. Alternatively, it's a better deal to get an annual pass if you plan to visit any of the 17 or so Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area parks more than 8 times over the next 12 months. Annual pass cost is $35

The following is a link to get annual passes online.  https://www.pay.gov/paygov/forms/formInstance.html?agencyFormId=11655368

If you bring your dog, it should be able to keep up with the group and interact well with other dogs and people. The Chattahoochee NRA requires that owners keep their dogs on a leash and clean up after their pets on the trails. A maximum of four dogs will be permitted on this hike on a first to sign up basis.
