Itinerary:

200 Morgan Falls Rd, Sandy Springs, GA 30350

Sunday morning moderate to leisurely, stroll through Morgan Falls Overlook Park and paddle on Bull Sluice Lake. This is one of SandySpring’s most visited parks. The park consists of a 30-acre riverside park in which there are picnic pavilions, playground, restrooms, boat dock, hiking trail, fire pit, porch swings, and scenic views. Bull Sluice Lake was created by the Morgan Falls Dam. The lake is beautiful as seen in the photo above and perfect for leisurely paddling. Additionally, the weather for our Sunday morning, 8 am hike and paddle is to be around will be around 50 degrees and expected to reach the 70s by later in the day. This is perfect weather for our outdoor adventure!

We will be hiking at a moderate pace and plan to complete a three-mile hike in 1 hour to warm-up for paddling.  After completing our hike, we will prepare our kayaks and paddle boards as we plan to start at the Overlook Park dock to begin  paddling on Bull Sluice Lake.

This is a bring your own kayak, canoe or paddle board and life preserver. Additionally, there is a place to rent kayaks and paddle boards on site called "High Country Outfitters" http://www.highcountryoutfitters.com (404) 483-1981 (Rentals start at $25 per hour or $55 for all day). Should you decide to rent, please contact the Outfitters  prior to the event to reserve one as this is the busy season for paddling.

This event is an easy hike and paddle (flat water), which is perfect for a moderate to leisurely Sunday morning outdoor adventure. I look forward to hiking and paddling with everyone!
