Itinerary:

Are you ready for an invigorating hike at Sweetwater Creek State Park?  We’ll hike around 5 miles and the trails will vary from the Yellow and (the newly blazed) Orange or perhaps the Red and White.  We’ll be hiking at a sustained moderate pace (around 21 minutes per miles average) so this is a great way to wind down your evening.  Much of the hikes will either be under tree cover or next to the creek so there is not a lot of exposed trekking.  Depending on our group, we can also opt for some tougher side trails that have steep elevation gain over a short distance.  Either way, these are fun hikes on some really beautiful trails.  After we are almost finished with the hiking, we'll stop and enjoy cooling off in the creek near the ruins before heading back to our cars!  What a great way to end the day!

*Please plan on arriving early enough to secure a park pass if you need one - we plan on hitting the trails promptly at 5:30 PM.

*We may briefly pause for 1 or 2 quick photos – but this is not really a photo op hike.

*This hike is not recommended for true beginners as it has some rock scrambling and a sustained moderate pace.

Required Items to Bring:
