Itinerary:

Are you ready for more adventure and endurance hiking? Our Kennesaw Mountain adventure and endurance hike is exactly that. We’ll hike all the trails and cover 18 miles with a total elevation gain and loss of over 2,600’! We will be keeping our group somewhat together at a pace of 3.0 to 3.5 and we'll group back up together at major junctions – so this is not a hike for folks who like to run ahead or are not ready for a tough D5.  I’ll be contacting anyone who does not already have a history of D5s

We’ll meet up at the visitor’s center at 6:55 AM and begin the hike promptly at 7:00 AM.  Please remember to leave yourself enough time to secure parking (overflow parking is 3/5 of a mile from the visitor’s center).  Once we start, we’ll quickly get our blood pumping by trekking the Kennesaw Mt. Trail and the Little Kennesaw Trail (making a slight detour on the French’s Rock Trail).  After we cross Brunt Hickory road we’ll briefly hike on the western loop of the Nose’s Creek Trail then track the South Hardage Mill Trail to Dallas Hwy.  Then we'll safely cross the road and head out on the Old John Ward Road trail to some picnic tables for a short break for snacks.  From there we’ll head south until we begin following the Kolb Farm Loop Trail.  At the bottom of the loop, we'll go off trail and head over to a Subway for a restroom break and to refill our water bottles (I usually buy something or tip them for allowing us to use their facilities.  Once we are back on the trail, we'll continue on the  Kolb farm tral and that loop takes us back to the Cease Fire Trail which in turn connects with the eastern loop of the Nose's Creek trail.  We’ll take a final short break at Burnt Hickory before we head back to the visitor’s center via the Camp Bumby Trail.
