Itinerary:

   We will gather in the gravel parking lot behind the Elachee Nature Center.


  The group will hike the 4.5 mile loop down to the beautiful Chicopee Lake ending back at the the parking lot. We will then an additional 1 mile loop hike on the Elachee Creek and Dodd trails, if there is time and interest.

 Located in the 1,400-acre Chicopee Woods Nature Preserve in North Georgia, Elachee is celebrating more than 30 years of building environmental literacy for Georgians through quality educational experiences, museum exhibitions, special programs, and resources for schools and the general public.

Event Directions:

 

From Atlanta, go north on I-85

Take the I-985 Exit and continue to Exit 17.

Turn left off ramp onto Hwy 13 (Atlanta Highway)

Continue past the Chicopee Woods Golf Course on the right

Turn right at the next road and make an immediate right onto Elachee Drive

Continue on Elachee Drive for 1 mile through the golf course, on the bridge over I-985, and continue straight into the gravel trail head parking lot.
