Itinerary:

How about an urban hike through downtown Decatur on a quest to locate the enchanting "Secret Doors"?

On past events,  not only was it enjoyable to see all the interesting shops and sights in downtown Decatur, but finding the beautiful little doors was a real treat.  I'm scheduling another Secret Door Part 1 hike to allow folks who missed the past events to join me on this "reopening" of the Secret Doors.

Lyndsay N.

Lyndsay N. at the Marlay House Secret Door

We'll gather at 10:30 am. at the intersection of McDonough and W. Trinity streets, at the corner of the City Hall. Parking in the Public Deck (entrance on W. Trinity) is free on Sundays as is street meter parking.

Our pace will be moderate so that we can keep our group together.  Bring your camera, as the doors themselves are picture worthy! Each is a piece of art unto itself, reflecting the distinctive style of the artist. (You can see the doors and a description of the project at http://secretdoorsdecatur.com/.) The doors are tiny and they're easy to miss unless you're looking for them . . .  but rest easy - - I've located the ones on our trek, so we won't get stumped. We'll see about 20 of the 31 doors on our route through town.

Following our discoveries, those who have time are invited to join the group for lunch at Noodle, Decatur, 205 E Ponce de Leon Avenue.  The menu can be viewed at http://www.noodlehouse.net/decatur.htm  If you stay for lunch, plan to be finished by about 2:00 pm. - - plenty of time for you to rest up for work on Monday.
