Please join us this Sunday at Kennesaw Mountain for a dayhike that will include a mix of terrain and also a visit to its historic summit.
We will start at Burnt Hickory doing a .5 on New Salem Church Trail on the Burnt Hickory side of park, then we go up the stairs and cross Burnt Hickory Rd to Camp Brumby Trail. We will take this trail around the base of mountain to the visitor center. Don’t worry, there are some hills to get your heart pumping right away. We will take a short break (bathroom) at visitor center to regroup. Now the real workout starts, we will then proceed up Kennesaw Mountain to Little Kennesaw and then to Pigeon Hill and down to the parking lot at Burnt Hickory.  You can grab a snack or extra water from your car at this point.  Then we'll continue our hike south, crossing Dallas Hwy and doing a loop near the Cheatham Hill parking lot before returning back to Dallas Hwy and then Burnt Hickory.  There is approximately 1500 ft of elevation gain on this hike and we'll average about a 3 mph pace (20 minute miles) for most of the course.  This is NOT A BEGINNER HIKE.
Meet at Burnt Hickory parking lot. No BATHROOMS at this location. Come early as the parking lot will fill up and you may need to wait for a spot.
