The BRAG Ride Experience

Thanks to our friends at  "BRAG", Bicycle Ride Across Georgia, for inviting the AOC to participate in their big annual Spring Tune Up Ride in Rutledge, GA!

It will be 3 days of riding, camping, and local entertainment, as well as s’mores, plenty of opportunities to hang out with friends - new and old, and local HAPPY HOUR specials as well as live music on Friday and Saturday!!

YOU CHOOSE THE DAY(S) YOU WANT TO RIDE!

Friday, Saturday, Sunday

Please note you can sign up for the entire weekend on the Brag site but this event is for the Saturday 32 mile ride option.  Stacey will be camping and riding the entire 3 days and you're invited to camp and stay the entire weekend if you are able to.

As if this isn’t inviting enough, there will be two bands at the overnight site on Friday and Saturday evening so even if you're just doing just the Saturday ride, make sure you stay and hang out for Happy Hour and the bands.

Saturday is the best and busiest for a true BRAG experience. The mileage options are 100, 57, 32, 10.  While this AOC event is posted for the 32 mile option, you are welcome to do the longer ride. The fee includes camping either the night before or the night after if people want to camp, full support for the entire ride, showers, snacks and drinks at the rest stops, bands Friday and Saturday nights.  We will meet at the BRAG Headquarters at the Sun Flower Farm in Rutledge, GA to start our ride. All levels of experience are welcome, as well as all types of bikes but we would strongly recommend a road bike or hybrid.  It's not a race so you can ride at your own pace, you will not be expected to stay together as an AOC group, there will be lots of other riders and you may find others that are your pace you'd prefer to ride with.  We will all meet up for an optional lunch after and if you're camping with us, we will plan to meet up for dinner.

Maps are included but the route is clearly marked.  There is food, drink and porta potties located at the rest stops along the way every 10 to 15 miles.

It's a ride not a race.  There will be a Newcomers' Meeting at 7:30am for first-time BRAG riders. We will plan to attend the meeting and start riding afterwards.

NOTE: For safety, a helmet  is required to be worn during this event.  No helmet, no bike ride.

BRAG will be designating an area for AOC members to camp together if you chose to camp.   We will tent camp at the SunFlower Farm.   RV camping with no hook ups is also available. CLEAN HOT showers will be available on site!

Can’t make all 3 days?  That’s no problem! You’re free to choose your days accordingly as what works best for you!
