This note is here so that you can make an informed decision. When a Trip Leader isn't personally familiar with a trip, there is an increased chance of things not going as planned and you need to be prepared. The Trip Leader may have additional details in the itinerary.

Itinerary:

Join us on the North Carolina AT!  THERE ARE 12 TOTAL SPOTS FOR THIS TRIP.  Before signing up, please read the entire write-up, especially the RED.

We'll begin our journey Thursday evening with a carpool at 7:30pm at the Indian Trail Park and Ride. We are only taking 3 vehicles on this event. If you can't go with the group - please don't sign up. We have Friday night rooms reserved at the Gateway Inn and Suites in Dillard, GA. Everyone will be paired with a room mate - 2 beds per room. We understand that some of you will want to sleep at home Thursday night and meet us at Albert Mountain - sorry that's not an option.

Friday morning May 13th at 6:30am we will depart to Albert Mountain where we'll leave our vehicles and get shuttled (in a van) to the drop off in Georgia near Blue Ridge Gap.

On Friday we'll cross the GA/NC border and continue our NC journey with about 10 miles per day of hiking before settling in camp Friday and Saturday nights.

On Sunday we'll end up at our cars at Albert Mountain - mile 100 on the Appalachian Trail. Our total will be about 30 miles over the 3 days.

Money is due April 20 at 9pm.  Any one who is added to the event after April 20 will have 48 hours to make payment or they will go back on the waitlist.

Everyone will be added to the WAIT LIST to begin with.  In order to get moved up, you must be approved by the trip leaders and may need a recommendation from another trip leader.

Notes:
Important information for paid events in which payment is managed through the AOC:

     - Payment must be received by the payment due date and prior to participation in the event.

     - Some paid events require a minimum number of registered participants. If that number is not met, the event will be canceled and refunds will be issued to those who have already paid.

     - Third-party vendors often require damage deposits. Each registrant agrees to be liable for and required to reimburse the Atlanta Outdoor Club for any withheld deposits due to the actions of or damages caused by that registrant.

     - No partial payments. All registrants must pay the posted Member Cost regardless of any agreement you may have with any party involved in the event.

     - Read the event description carefully for additional information, and contact the trip leader(s) with any questions.

* We encourage all members to follow our Etiquette Guidelines while participating in AOC events.
