Come practice your Backpacking with us on Saturday with 2 passes over Kennesaw Mountain
I'm pretty sure Tricia will be weighing packs before we start so you better have at least 15 pounds in your pack (backpack or daypack)
We are going over Kennesaw from the Visitor's Center to Burnt Hickory. We'll have a short snack break at Burnt Hickory before going back up and over the mountain to finish at the Visitor's Center.
Go at your own pace if you'd like on this hike. Your trip leaders will wait for everyone at Burnt Hickory and again at the finish, but feel free to set your own pace that's comfortable for you. The purpose of this hike is getting used to carrying weight while hiking with elevation. Our packs are normally at least 30 lbs so this is a warm up for the real deal.
If you're a joker (and some of you are) don't plan to empty out 15 lbs of sand or water on the way up so you look like a stud flying up the mountain. Tricia will beat you silly... and then laugh at you on the real backpacking when you're crying. You know if I'm talking to you...
|How to Get There:|
1) I-75 North to exit 267B Hwy 5 Canton Road Connector
