Itinerary:

Join me for a moderate to fast (2.5 to 3 mph) paced hike on the NEW trails of the Sawnee Mountain Preserve- Mountanside trails. The trail head is located in the Cumming First United Methodist Church Parking Lot. We will hike the Church Trail to the Mountainside trail to the Hilltop trail.  Then we will hike the shorter version of the Indian Seats trail to appreciate the summit view before heading back to the cars via the Ridgeline Trail and Mountainside Trail.  Total distance should be approximately 9 miles with a little over 1500 feet of elevation gain making it a solid D3 with the pace.

We'll meet in the Cumming First United Methodist Church Parking Lot (770 Canton Highway, Cumming, GA 30040).

How to Get There:

 Cumming First United Methodist Church (770 Canton Highway, Cumming, GA 30040).

 

GA 400 N or S to exit 15 (Bald Ridge Rd),

If traveling North on 400 turn left and go west towards downtown Cumming

If traveling South, turn Right and travel toward downtown Cumming

As you come through downtown Cumming, you will cross Hwy 9. The next intersection is Tribble Gap Rd. (same as Bettis Tribble Gap).  Continue going until you get to GA 20 (Next Light).

Turn right on GA 20 and go about 1.7 miles and you will see the entrance to the Cumming First United Methodist Church Parking Lot after you pass Tower Road.  The address to Cumming First United Methodist Church is (770 Canton Highway, Cumming, GA 30040).
