This note is here so that you can make an informed decision. When a Trip Leader isn't personally familiar with a trip, there is an increased chance of things not going as planned and you need to be prepared. The Trip Leader may have additional details in the itinerary.

Itinerary:

PLEASE READ THIS ENTIRE WRITE-UP CAREFULLY

Join us for a tour of Georgia’s mountains!  We have a new member from California and we’ll show him the following:

Brasstown Bald (Georgia’s highest point)

Blood Mountain (Georgia’s highest point on the Appalachian Trail)

Springer Mountain (Start of the AT)

Mountain Crossings (the only store the AT goes through)

This will be an ALL DAY EVENT.

We’ll hike at least 15 miles (maybe more)

We’ll stop for food at least once.  You should pack a lunch.

We might wait for the sunset on Blood Mountain which means we’ll be really late back in Atlanta.

We’ll probably be in the car 4-5 hours total.

If any of this is overwhelming to you, this probably isn’t the hike for you.

This is an event where you’ll be required to GO WITH THE FLOW (as determined by your trip leaders).

This event is posted as EXPLORATORY because it will be a creative event - even though we’ve already hiked all of these trails.

You must have AOC proven events or personal experience with the trip leaders to be added to the event.
